Current Events

 

January:  Classroom guidance lessons will continue to revolve around team building activities.  The previous month focused on caring, January will focus on citizenship.  Team building activities is a perfect way to transition as our students will learn how we can all benefit of taking care of one another and how coming together to achieve common goals is a great way to be a citizen and give back to the community.  We are hoping to incorporate and strengthen our recycling program during our citizenship discussions as well.  

February:  Classroom guidance lessons will continue to focus on citizenship.  We are hopeful we can role out a more student centered recycling program.  This effort will be launched at about the same time that the movie The Lorax hits the theatres.  Also, in the spirit of citizenship we are going to pilot a reading buddies activity where the 5th and 6th grade classrooms will partner up with a kindergarten classroom and the older students will read the younger students picture books that focus on character.  We are hopeful that this will benefit all students involved.
